Just bought a new lap top and installed norton 2007 immediately before i installed broadband. There seems to be a conflict, so have turned the firewall off and turned on windows firewall. Internet is working fine now. Are there any other solutions as I am aware that windows is not as good as Norton? Please don't recommend any other anti virus packages as I paid good money for this.

Connect to the net. turn off Windows firewall and then turn on Norton, it should then come up with an acceptance screen such as "do you wish to allow....."
Otherwise you may have to configure Norton's firewall from it's Control Centre, so read the instructions.

Too long to read.
You don't say what the conflict is. Best to use the Norton firewall if you can. .
When you are switched on make sure that you don't visit any page other than your ISP home page until you're sorted (for safety).
Make sure that your ISP hasn't installed a firewall that you haven't noticed. Switch off Windows firewall and switch on the Norton one. Expect some "do you want ..." messages. Take the Norton's advice regarding yes or no.
Good luck and happy surfing.
