i'd highly recommend AVG antivirus. it's freeware, and it automatically downloads the most recent updates and works well. it's caught a number of viruses trying to sneak their way from the internet onto the hard drive.
i would recommenced not rely on one antivirus program i would put windows defender and avg. for a good spyware program i would recommend spy bot search and destroy.
