only happened since daugther switched off anti virus to use msn nothing but trouble since using it through bt

i use norton and have no trouble .why would she need to turn it off ,

try

go off line -

delete all norton systems

from add and remove programs

check also start -all programs

if it says norton or symtec remove

also if you are running other security sytems remove also

turn comp of

reboot goto BT site reinstall norton

then if you want other systems back if you have them put them back

sometimes viruses can 'attack' anti virus systems and put them out of action.

if your daughter downloaded a file on msn, a virus could have entered though that.

what properly happened was msn was blocked by a firewall it happened to me but you should never turn your security off just go into the firewall programs list and click allow on msn
1st. Get rid of Norton, put something decent on. Use a mult-layer defence. See link.

2nd. Tell your daughter NEVER turn of your security.

It's not BT causing your problem, it's daughter not knowing what she's doing.
