The Microsoft security seems to be downloading and updating constantly. Does this do the same thing as the anti-virus software such as Symantec?

It's always good to have multiple layers of security. No one security software gets all the viruses out.

I used to use MS Antivirus, Norton Antivirus and AVG one time or another. Well Since I come across this new Antivirus I no Longer use any of the other ones. It is called Avast, It stays Resident all the time, it updates once a week to keep you updated, it's automatic, you won't even know it's there. To tell you how good it works, I reinstalled my System, Formated my Hard drive, Reinstalled WIndows and then Avast before I installed anything else and got back on the internet, It will do a Preliminary Scan after reboot, It found 7 Virus on boot up from just Microsoft Alone. So aparently Microsoft Packs their software with Virus, Spyware and adware. And best of all they have a Free Home Version that you can download, or you can buy the most recent and up-to-date version. Give it a Try and see what you think
